What we do
The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) works worldwide to provide humanitarian assistance to people affected by conflict and armed violence. We take action in response to emergencies and at the same time promote respect for international humanitarian law. We are an independent and neutral organization, and our mandate stems essentially from the Geneva Conventions of 1949. We work closely with National Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies and with their International Federation in order to ensure a concerted, rational and rapid humanitarian response to the needs of the victims of armed conflict or any other situation of internal violence. We direct and coordinate the international activities conducted in these situations.
Context
The ICRC’s Internal Audit is one of the organization’s governing bodies charged with exercising general oversight. It is independent of the Administration and reports directly to the Assembly. Its scope covers the entire ICRC.
Purpose
Support the Head of Internal Audit in the discharge of their duties as set out in Article 50 of the ICRC Internal Regulations. Evaluate the relevance, effectiveness and efficiency of ICRC’s governance, risk management and control processes at headquarters and in delegations.

As a member of the team, you will be called upon to perform the following tasks:
Travel time expected: The field visit component of delegation audits usually represents 3 consecutive weeks at a time. The auditor will be expected to carry out at least 2 delegation audits per year
